This 21 acre scheme comprises of 7 individual buildings ranging from contemporary new builds to 18th century restorations of the existing Manor, Gatehouse and Chapel. The 7 buildings make up 20 apartments and 4 houses.

 

The intention is to create contemporary communal living in a manor estate setting. With sympathetic architectural language & materials such as stone and glass was used to harmonise with the existing build. A clean pallet was utilised on the pavilions to ensure they carried visual weight when stood aside the existing Manor House.

 

The act of making a development with proportion and elegance was central to the concept of this project. As the scheme attempts to show a thoughtfulness of how these important existing building can be modernised while still respecting the original architectural character and atmosphere.
